But, rather of an instant rematch Marquez and Pacquiao went their separate ways with Pacquiao gaining acclaim with his trilogy versus Erik Morales and Marquez staking his declare as the biggest lively Mexican fighter with his conclusion win about Marco Antonio Barrera.Four decades later Pacquiao and Marquez satisfied when yet again and as anticipated, gave boxing supporters a single of the most action packed and controversial fights of the yr in Pacquiao's split decision victory. The guarantee of an expedient 3rd fight was assured. Effectively, as we sit in August of 2011, Pacquiao and Marquez are arranged to do battle in just a couple of months. But what as soon as loomed as an historically critical struggle, is now just a battle of names. Now 37, Juan Manuel Marquez is not the very same fighter he as soon as was, 7 many years ago when he and Pacquiao initially fulfilled. Though the more youthful Pacquiao stays in his prime, Marquez is a shell of the fighter he once was.The true shame is that alternatively of finishing the trilogy when it still was a battle of pound for pound best, Best Rank and Manny Pacquiao selected to battle challengers, only in name, such as Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley. And now you can include Juan Manuel Marquez to that listing.Tuesday, August 2, 2011
